I hate the phrasing of collections because it's going to cause this request to get dismissed out of hand. Let me preface this request by saying that I'm not suggesting the sharing of game licenses, just the listing of games.

Right now we have dynamic and static collections of games that we can build with games in our library. With dynamic collections, we can build groups of games that we share among a group of friends.

This is meh.

We can have 400 games in common but only care about 10 of them. Likewise, we can have 100s of games that we might want to introduce our other friends to but no easy way to do so. With a library of over 1200 games, the vast majority aren't going to be relevant for playing with friends. Even filtering for multiplayer only with dynamic lists, 517 games ends up being hundreds of games we will never consider playing together.

We can build static lists of games that are actually relevant to a group of friends but currently have no way to easily collaborate on these lists with the group.

I'm proposing that we be able to build static lists of games that we can SHARE OUT TO other friends. If we both own the game, either the play or install button would be visible. If the friend lacks a game, there'd be a button to go to the store page for the game to buy it (or however games are handled currently if you have them installed from a free to play weekend, after the weekend has ended).

The functionality is mostly in place already. I just want to be able to right click a static list, get a dialog, and be able to add friends to the list so they get the same list on their side. Bonus if they can also add/remove games to the list as well.

My primary play group and I have been struggling with game interest alignment for a while, we spend more time scrolling up and down our libraries than playing the games these days. It'd be nice if we could all collaborate on a list of games. Just add all our games to the list and collectively pare the list down until it only has the games we are all collectively interested in playing together.
