Short Term games that become the Beta Platform.
It is getting really annoying that we spend money on a game for the Dev's to come out with a "2" version that is separate and cost MORE money. Planet Coaster, Prison Arch, Planet Base comes to mind. If the dev's are not ready to release a product then stop releasing the beta early and just give us ONE GAME to buy. I'm starting to withhold my wallet until a year or two after a new game annoucement, just so I dont waste any time or funds on a game that will probably be replaced in a few months. Please devs, really put some thought into your game so we don't keep running into this problem. If you need money, go to a bank, it's called a loan.

you know you might have a case if you weren't relying on examples that had 8 years between the games, over ten years between the games and in your third example the game wasn't 6 years old with no actual declaration of a second one yet just fans blowing smoke up each others asses with their fantasies about one.

How about you sit your ass down and learn the simple reality even the best designed management and building sim will hit a point where its too limited by its base code to continue adding more features and a sequel rebuilding from the ground up is needed to expand further.
Prison Architect 2 is a completely different game made by a completely different studio that also isn't even out yet.

Have you been on Steam long enough to remember the L4D2 boycott?

OP wpuld have hated The old days when sequels came out practically annually like with the Megaman games.
