Request to Improve the Buy Order System on the Steam Market
Hello Steam Support!

I would like to share some important feedback regarding the Buy Order system on the Steam Community Market.
Right now, the system is extremely limited and causes a lot of frustration for users who actively trade items.

Here are the main problems:
1. When placing a buy order, there is no progress indicator — I can’t see how many items have already been purchased out of the total quantity I requested.
2. Buy orders cannot be paused. Sometimes I need to temporarily stop the order without canceling it completely.
3. If my Steam inventory is full (reaches 1000 items), the buy order simply fails — it gets canceled automatically, and I can’t find it in the archive or see any record of what happened. This makes it easy to lose track of orders and causes financial confusion.
4. Buy orders always deliver purchased items directly to the inventory, but not to storage units, which leads to the issue above.

Suggested improvements:
1. Add a counter showing “X out of Y items purchased” for each buy order.
2. Add the ability to pause and resume buy orders.
3. If the inventory is full, automatically pause the order instead of canceling it.
4. Allow users to select the destination for purchased items (inventory or a specific storage unit).
5. Add an archive or order history section to review completed and canceled orders.

These improvements would make the Steam Market much more user-friendly and reliable who manage large numbers of items.

Please consider forwarding this feedback to the development team.
Thank you for your attention and for continuously improving the Steam ecosystem.
