Trust Points System for Account Customization
I suggest adding a “Trust Points” system to give users more control over their accounts. Users would earn Trust Points by playing fairly and responsibly — for example, not cheating, not griefing teammates, and avoiding bans in games like CS2.

Points could be spent to:

* Change the account login name
* Customize profile features (profile name color, avatar frames, etc.)
* Unlock other personalization options

This system would encourage positive behavior, help users who created accounts a long time ago and want more flexibility, and make the community friendlier by reducing disruptive players.

Thank you for considering this idea!

TL:DR You want Steam points for free. That defeats the purpose of the Steam points.

PS: Changing your login name is not a monetization problem.
Hi,
Thanks for your comment! Just to clarify, my idea is not about Steam Points or money. It’s a separate “Trust Points” system that rewards fair and responsible play, like not cheating or griefing teammates. Points could be spent on account personalization, including changing the login name, to encourage positive behavior and make the community friendlier.

So you want to receive rewards for doing what you are already expected to do. Not happening. What you get for doing what's expected of you is getting to play the game and not receive any kind of ban.

There is no system in place to monitor this sort of thing, nor would Valve spend the time and resources trying to implement such a system. Heck, they can't even tell if you are playing a game, or just idling on the games main menu, probably to get the trading cards.

Also, due to how the user database was initially setup, it's currently impossible to change an accounts login name, at least in some kind of automated way.
I mean, for example, in CS2, people can get banned for hurting their allies or something like that. And regarding changing the login, the developers said that they will implement a login change function in the future.

Steams devs themselves have stated that it is currently impossible to allow account username changes.
It would require the whole system to be rebuilt from scratch.
And that could result in users losing everything, as the account username is the primary key for the account.

CS2 and many other games have their own trust systems, but that is limited to the game.
And it is a system to encourage others to play right and play fair.
They don't get any bonuses from it.
