It'd be great if I could set up an automatic deposit into my Steam wallet every month instead of buying a couple of $10 gift cards and applying them every month.

I highly doubt Valve will add a auto deposit system for the wallet itself.

I think auto-payments are made via bank or bank app
So bank should allow month payment to Steam wallet - might need to connect Steam account

You can save the info and just do a charge through the client each month.
