Remove Steam Charts API
I'm honestly so sick of threads of people constantly saying, "oh no, less than 1000 people are playing this game. It's sooo DEAD!"

Not finding players is one thing but an active community who plays every night or every weekends regardless of player count is another thing. I even play games that has less than 50 players concurrent count and it's not a big deal.

People need to stop statically look at steam charts then complain how it's dying. It's not healthy at all. Contributing to the game by playing, and being active member is great.

The data is useful for gamedevs. There's no reason to remove it just because people don't understand what data actually means.

I'm not talking about gamedev side of things.
These numbers are also posted in the game hubs for each game.

:nkCool:

idc about your data
Removing the tools used doesn't change the fact that everyone is polarized and hates each other nowadays. These threads would still show up just with a different metric.

So cause you hate the fact that people hate a game and then points to the games numbers as a way to say it did bad or it's dead, you want it removed?
steam chart is a good indicator for everyone. no need to go on social media to see the latest buzz. the numbers are not entirely accurate, like farming bots and whatnot.

ignore the doomsayers and play what YOU enjoy.

There is a word for withholding information because it can negatively affect behaviour: It's called censorship.

Censorship only makes people even more curious about the withheld information. Therefore, it is better to leave access free for everyone.

Player count is just one factor of many. In general, though, if it's fun, people will play it.

It's still very useful information to the public. If i'm about to purchase an online-focused game, i'd like to know in advance how active the playerbase is.

The lack of media literacy some people have is just not a good reason to hide this information.
I always find it interesting to look at player habits and trends.
No need to remove access to the public.

You're using that term wrong.
