Make Achievements removable from average game completion rate
Title says it all. Completionists who made the mistake of not caring what they adde to their library in the past and unlock 1 or 2 achievements of a dead game that requires multiplayer achievements, and then have learnt whatever you do, that 1 percent game completion will stick to your average completion rate, effectively lowering it; I believe there are many people like this as well as myself and these people are imo are pushed to use SAM because like I said whatever you do (even if you remove the game from your library) obtained achievements are never gone, they stay in the background affecting average completion rate. Now I saw some people saying they opened up a new account just for hunting achievements but at this point, I don't wanna buy again those games I've already completed and I believe steam can very well do something as "true removal of game achievements" on command.

Apply to steam support -> choose the game you want to "truly remove" from the library -> steam support decides there's nothing wrong with "truly removing" it from the library of the person applying -> happy customer who wasn't forced to use a 3rd party software to clean that completion rate.

Mark these games as private.

"Showcases on your Steam Community Profile will not show the game or achievements for the game (such as the "Rarest Achievements" showcase)."

I noticed a cgange on your profile. It said xxxx achievements from 82 games and 62%.

"Private" doesn't apply to you. Change it again and check your profile in a brwoser without being logged in.

This is just incorrect, at least on my end. Most of the achievements on my “Rarest Achievement” showcase are from games I’ve either privated or privated and removed from my account entirely. That’s one of the reasons I don’t use that showcase. If they don’t show for others (which this thread seems to imply) that’s great, but I don’t want them showing up for me either.

Anyway, +1 for OP’s idea.
I feel like it's a real stat though.
You did start a game, and did not in fact complete it. What you're trying to do now is hide that fact, which IMO would make that completion ratio stat as fake as it would be if you cheated to complete that game.

Now getting past philosophical arguments. if you do want to cheat, there is a tool for adding removing achievements. I forget what it's called, but I'm sure you can find it on google.

Whatever you do (even if it's opening another account, or asking support) it'll be a manipulation of reality, so at this point you might as well just embrace cheats, just set yourself some boundaries.

Yes I know about the existence of SAM and what you say is kinda true but if you wanna remove achievements you need to remove the game itself from the library, so this should prevent most of the "hiding the fact" incidents. Owning games is another collection on its own.

Let's say you bought a game for 10 dollars, then realized you don't like the game but youve already played it for more than 2 hours and it messes up your ratio. You need to delete that game from your library to get rid of the achievements. If you wanna play the game in the future you will have to buy it again.

For example I wouldn't remove GTA5 from my library just to delete the few achievements I've got in that game.

Anyway, my point was I don't like using SAM. I've hardly used any 3rd party softwares in my whole life so I'd be happy if this problem was solved by steam. I know a lot of people think like me too

You can't delete games from your account. Removing them is just an advanced hide. The license is still tied to your account and you can recover the game at any time going through Help.

You can't rebuy a game that you have a license for. This was possible only for a short time in the past.
