User Agreement
I honestly wish there’s a forced Pop Up Agreement with a “agree” or “decline” option instead of a link, after the age requirement so users would be more aware of the major risks to make an account for future outcomes:

At least Users can’t complain about what happened to their account if they accepted the policy. There’s a reason because I didn’t even know they had one of these.
I think that Valves politics regarding Steam is way too strict

You didn't know Steam / VALVE had legal policies which you must agree to before using their service?

No? I never saw the agreement when I made an account. I’m pretty new to Steam for two years. I would remember.

You had to check a box explicitly saying you read and agreed to it before you could make the account. You have to do so on every purchase as well.

I want a pop up, not just click a box to just confirm your 13 and older and a link. A pop up attracts more of my attention saying ”WARNING” instead of ”oh, here’s a little warning”.

Edit: honestly, I remembered the “you’re 13 and older”, just not the tiny little link to the policies. So that was my bad for not clarifying.

A popup that would be been ignored just like the link.

That’s for those who don’t care. For those who do care would want to have an attention grabber rather than seeing something tiny that wasn’t carefully read before applying a new account.

Those who cared would've clicked the link.

Clicking a link and being confronted with a forced pop-up are two different engagement levels:

- A pop-up forces you to see the warning before you continue.
- A link doesn’t. A link relies on voluntary effort. Most people skip links, even if they care.

A clear pop-up makes sure everyone actually notices what they’re agreeing to.

Again, those who cared would've clicked the link. A popup doesn't force anything more thank a checkbox does.

Not really. A checkbox can be clicked without reading anything. A pop-up blocks progress until it’s closed, so you have to look at it first. It doesn’t fix everything, but it makes the warning harder to ignore than a small link or checkbox.

To me a pop = I don't see the message as I'm looking to top right corner to close it or scrolling to the bottom to say yeah/no/cancel. In case that isn't clear I detest pop-ups. They are intrusive and as far as I'm concerned is Malware like behaviour. When I visit a website I get a pop=up within the first few seconds I litteraly close the tab. Doesn't matter whether I visited to read and article or shop. A pop is intrusive and like a pushy sales person behaving like a drug pusher, in both cases I leave and don't go back.

As for Steam before clicking to say I read something I at least skim it so I get an idea and actually read certain parts carefully. I don't need nor want a popup for something I can and really should choose to view before saying I've read it.
