I must've posted this same thing at least 2 times in the last few years,
I also reinforced someone else posting about this recently a few days ago,
I consider it THE most important 'feature' they need to add for steam at this time currently,
because it not only REALLY helps people (with sorting out wishlists),
but ALSO would really help steam with selling their games,
when people can organize in a practical way their wishlist they are _much_ more likely to be able to find games when they get that 'urge' to buy a certain kind of game,
You make perfect sense,
and also, ignore ignorant people coming along and telling you what a bad idea it is,
it is crazy to think but (in one of those other threads) someone came along and said,
"you don't need that it's already there by using tags etc",
like they completely missed the part a person wants their _own_ _unique_ categories _they_ want to put in there,
not the garbage 'pre-made' (useless) "tags" games have
(which 9 times out of 10 don't make any sense anyways),
we can see the foolishness is already starting here with someone saying,
"don't ask for something that will make things more complicated" etc,
completely ignoring the " If I could categorize my wishlist like I can categorize my games " part,
which already is a feature on steam and obviously it's a very useful thing (for some people).
It's amazing people write stuff like that (saying it will only 'complicate' things),
like I mean just imagine what planet a person like that lives on,
that they never had to use an organizing system like anybody trying to do anything in life would have to do,
from secretaries to programmers to almost anybody doing anything besides watching TV all day,
well wait TV's have 'channels' and those channels have 'categories' so guess that's not a usable example either...
Anyways keep up the good fight,
on top of that people seem to ignore wishlists can be 'ordered' based on categories already (i.e. date added, price, ranking, etc),
but it just needs the ability to put your own categories too..
this topic has been posted (by different people) 3 times already I think in 2-3 weeks,
I think it's THE most asked about suggestion by far,
considering the number of posts about it relative to the various other suggestions asked for,
why is Steam not taking this seriously it will only help them get more sales..
You can add me to the growing list of people seeking a way to organize our wishlists. Now that my wife has started playing games other than Mario ever since I ran a long fiber HDMI cable to our living room TV from my desktop, I am tasked with finding games she might enjoy. Being able to categorize our wishlists is a much needed feature, and the need grows increasingly more week-by-week.
These are the total number of games released on Steam in the listed years. 2024 saw a 27% jump from 2023, and a 40% jump from 2022!! That is insane. I bet we'll see a jump similar to that in 2026. Either way, MORE and MORE games are being released every year, and this is just on Steam!
We need the ability to organize our wishlists. Or keep wishlists what it currently is, and use it for quick "don't need to think about it" adds, and give us some other feature to organize games we intend on purchasing/playing in the future. Please?!
is your wife an android?
you might go and put yourself in a patients list of some psychiatry. this mania of yours is detrimental.
Every now and then I check my wishlist and I remove some games because I lost interest in getting them for some reason or another.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea.
But if you have so many games on it to the point of forgetting what is even on there and why it's on there, then maybe you should do some spring cleaning of your wishlist.
