Steam purchases whilst in another country for a long vacation?
What is the correct way to go about this? My original region is the United States but when I go on vacation, I'll be on a foreign ip address for internet access and obviously would like to make purchases when sales occur. I heard that using a VPN is a no no when it comes to purchasing games due of potential regional pricing problems.

However in my case I could care less about regional pricing and have always payed in USD since that is my country of origin and all of my payment methods are US based. Is there a correct way to go about this without causing any major problems? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

So setting aside all your manufactured worries and concerns. What exactly happens if you change nothing, and try to purchase games normally while traveling?

I wouldn't know since I have never bought a game from Steam through a foreign IP address while on vacation. It may or may not be an issue but I would like a more clear cut answer

Your store region is USD. You are paying with a USD based payment with a billing address within the US.

So while you're on vacation, you buy games like you had been while in the US.

Ok this sounds good, so there shouldn't be a flag regardless if I bought games through the Steam store while on a foreign ip address?

No it wont be a problem. I have been overseas and used my normal store region to purchase games.

If you're not staying in the new country for an extended period of time, its better to keep your existing home country

As long as you use a payment method from your home country, you can make purchases while overseas without issue.
