Refund Request Question
I played a free demo for Diablo 4 back in September and accumulated 5 hours trying the game. I didn't like it, but I loved Diablo growing up so thought I would give it one more chance when it was on sale the other day. I have played for 88 minutes since buying it and I just can't get into it. I asked for a refund given the two hour rule and it was denied because they are saying I have played for 7 hours given the demo. Its only a few bucks, but does the Steam team really count a free demo as play time for the refund request? Seems wrong to me but thought I would ask if anyone else had this experience.

Thanks!

Yes they count all playtime, including the demo. They also count time played if its been family shared and you launch it that way.
Perhaps just leave it or ask for it to be removed. Or family share it to someone who wants to play it without paying you.
You can try manual refund but there is no guarantee that they will agree.
Manual refund:
Help > Purchases > click on game > "i've question about ..." > fill contact form
Thanks for the responses. This was my first Steam purchase so lesson learned.

I will be returning the Steam deck we got my son for Christmas though as that is unopened and easy to return, so I win out in the end savings hundreds and Steam gets to keep their percentage of $30.

Steam is still the "winner" here, they will just sell your Steam Deck to someone else and they got money out of you.

In the future read the legal documents you agreed to instead of skipping past them. The refund policy was already explained to you upon account creation.
