Another could be your settings is off for signing into friends when steams boots up:

tried all of this. the first one didn't work and i already had that setting on. steam also says i'm offline to myself AND my friends

Try reduce Latency or jumps if you are using wifi or VPN, the distance or time dont seem to get through to steam via all them ISP and there partners partner.

you can test for bad packets and other things like that.

also recheck netcard drivers and router firmware, is a good idea.

i assume it has worked before, so firewallit cant be unless you have reset or change something.

many underestimated the traffiick int steam i call keep alive packets, ( reasom for use that word is a reference to network protocol that send your status back and fouth get there.

even seen some old psot blain mobil for offline then it use as steam notification if this is so, then say so, but same time its not that imo , millions of steam users use it, and thats my point many more steam user should have it when.

make sure pc system time and country and clock is in sync with a time server.
we do not acees this anymore, reason is windows automatic use this, but forom time to time we do see linux user witha bad battery. ( last steam user mention this why cloxk was not in sync. )

again as you see many issue with it, do reboot if you correct something so logs and windows get it right. ( we have also seen ppl use time cheat and cause own issue with it.

there is no way we will know what going on at your pc, we can only suggest crazy or what if this and that here.

rule is if ISP use ipv6 when you need it also.


We have seen pc user back in time remove ipv6, this can lead to pocket network with fewer in them, never seen this myslef, but that was is told. ( and why you cant reach other , i did not say this is it, but if you have any network issue its still your own ISP that has support.

Do you have a spare pc, if it work there, you clear ISP and steam in other end and its own PC to wallplug issue, its part of faulth finding and somestime narrow it down alot this way.

i have an old pc in storage but it doesn't work anymore anyway
