should i replace/use another drive

i get disk write errors a bit too often nowadays when i download a large game. these errors aren't exactly a problem since i can just resume the download and it'd be installed and playable soon after.

but is there a way to prevent this from happening instead of buying a new storage drive?

Depends on why the write errors are occurring. It generally shouldn't happen to a normally functioning drive. And without knowing the cause hard to guess if the drive will die or something.
