You took the time to post and helped me as well, that is appreciated! The award is just to say thanks for that time.
In that case for Steam exe users, one can also rightclick and select reload as well (tested both, confirmed workaround, marked as solution).
Based on your findings, it seems the page checks the state of the button only once, when the page loads, however it remembers the button's state even after a reload when it re-checks the state.
In case a Steam dev reads this, it should be a really easy fix, the easiest would be to program the button so every time it is clicked, it reloads the page, checking the button state anew. Of corse, a less ressource-heavy approach can be done.
