How to switch off spellcheck

windows 10 here, after nvidia-graphic card update the steam spell check is active again.
Going to C:\Users\Markus\AppData\Local\Steam\htmlcache\Default and editing UserPrefs.json - the :{"dictionaries":[""] thing - did not help.
Is there another way ?

Check out this guide, it helped me enabling spellcheck for English and German, should be no issue to also disable it the other way around, no file editing required.
