buyer chargeback money from steam market
hellooo, theres been a question in my mind for example if i sell an csgo skin on my main account and the one who buys it uses a stolen credit card but then the real owner of the card files a chargeback, what happens to my money? Will it get removed on my account? Or the steam takes the financial loss on themselves? Thanks :>

Steam is not at fault for the fraud and will not take the loss. You're not going to benefit from the fraud.

After all, what if you were involved? The loop hole to infinitely defraud Valve is quite obvious. Took me two seconds to see it and I'm not a criminal mastermind.

That's what the pending delay between item sale and funds delivery is for.

If it gets charged back within that time, you won't lose anything and the item won't leave your inventory. If it gets, unlikely to happen, but still, charged back after, the account that did it will be penalized.

The funds will be removed, and if you get your account with a negative balance, you will have to bring it back to at least zero to be able to trade again, buy stuff etc.

Keep in mind that if this happens often, your account can be restricted.

Because it is a fraudelent transaction. If you manage to get involved in more "suspicious" transactions, your account will be penalized.

Yep, it is to protect your item. I don't know why so many people complain about it, and the other half complain they lost their items to a scammer.
