what's the point of family view?
i have been using it since 2019 and every time i log into my account i have to enter the PIN to view my games and manage inventory

i didn't have a problem with it until now cause am tired of entering the same pin for over 6 years every time i login, and the reason i have it on is because i think someone told me it's for extra security on your account incase someone hacked into it he can't view your games or do stuff to your inventory, i don't know if this is true.

The point of Family View was for a user to set up an account for a child with parental controls to lockout certain areas of Steam or control what games they are allowed to play. It can also serve to add as an additional layer of security, but if you don't have a habit of falling for the usual scams and aren't prone to clicking random links sent to you, just your account name, password, and 2FA is more than enough to keep your account safe.
