[Solved] Two games I play are crashing when I press any button
Not sure if this is the right place for this but, here I go I guess.

I have an issue with two games I am playing, Snowbreak: Containment Zone and The Killing Antidote. They are both very different, yet I am facing the same issue in both games.

Whenever I click the left mouse button after either game has loaded up, it crash. If I do nothing it doesn't crash. I have tried verifying my game files and updating my drivers, but to no avail. Both games still crash.

Now, as far as I am aware both games are made with unreal engine. Perhaps that's where the issue lies? Though I haven't had any issues until today.

I am confused and would appreciate some help.

That's certainly a strange problem... I guess you don't have another mouse laying around? To verify if this could be a hardware problem.

Mouse movement or any other mouse button doesn't crash the game?
Did you try a different USB port?
You can check the Windows "Event Viewer" for any application error logs. You may find something suspicious =D

I could try another mouse, though the mouse movent is fine. That doesn't crash either game.

I'M gonna try and se if I can find something in the event viewer but I'll have to figure out how to navigate this thing first as I had never have to use it before.

What you are looking for is probably in "Windows Logs -> Application".

I did find the related log but I can't see anything that would tell what the issue is.
Also, one of the games (The Killing Antidote) seems to work again.

UPDATE: I have managed to fix(?) the issue by using a gamepad for input before using mouse and keyboard.

But i suspect this has circumvented whatever has caused the crash rather then fix it. I am not sure though.

This sounds even more strange. When you have a controller input before you do a mouse click and this prevents the crash... veeery strange xD

I guess we are observing just a symptom instead the actual real problem :x

I found the issue and have since resolved it it was RTSS that caused the issue. I had to disable it.
