How to change sound settings?

I recently got a razer blackshot v2 x headset, that has 7.1 surround sound.

After trying the headset, I did not like the sound change that much, so i changed back to my old headphones. But now, all games i play through steam sound different, as if i was still playing with the surround sound headphones

Since I can't seem to change the sound back in-game, I'm guessing some setting got changed on steam itself. But I can't find any place to change sound settings.

Does anyone know if it is possible to fix/change sound settings on steam?
