There are some options there that might help you, if you haven't tried that already. I just put the settings to only update games when I launch the game because I was getting tired of the constant updates in my Steam Deck, too. Hope that helps.

i doubt you want hear un install games you do not play.
ps.
learn to have schedule games you dont play atm. in the steam dl cue.
steam actual try update games when server and you have lesser to do.
This is well known among old pc dudes, and old habits that hard to change, i only learn this thanks to IT companys update overnight and try nor to bother normal time, so downtime is lesser, why will gamers not do this anyway, as you actual have a choise in say no to a game update anyway.
Use schedule dl management in off peak hours 0100 to 0500, or whatever that is for you.

There is a old saying why waste time on see paint dry on wall. ( patches is no diffrent. )
