Long-term Steam offline mode viability
TLDR:
Preparing for long-term Steam offline mode. Need to know which games can run forever without online connection (no Denuvo token refreshes etc). Looking for advice and help checking my library.

---

Well, here's the situation. At some point internet access to pretty much any international platform will probably get shut down here in my country, it'll be hard to bypass (velikiy and moguchiy russian federation). I hope I’m wrong, but I’m not betting on it. So I’m preparing for long-term isolated life and trying to download everything I actually care about.

Shows and movies are sorted. Games are the main problem. I’ve downloaded a bunch, but I’m not sure which ones will actually run indefinitely in offline mode. For example - some folks told me Persona games have to connect to servers occasionally to update denuvo tokens and without that they die after a week or so. I don’t want to end up with a library full of corpses and stocked hdd. I don't really want to move to gog or any other launcher either.

So here’s my question: Is there any reliable way to know in advance which Steam games will work permanently in offline mode and which won’t? And if anyone’s willing to look through my library and point out the risky ones, that’d be a massive help. :luv:

So the games will work for eternity if they're without drm?

Yes, you should be able to start their exe files without running Steam.

See here: https://steam.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_DRM-free_games

List is recent as of November 2022, so not a fully complete list
