same here updated some drivers then can't open it plz help

I've been facing an identical issue since windows updated for me yesterday. Not sure what it auto-updated to yesterday ("update and shut down"). I've exhausted all my options at this point
- tried clearing the appdata and relaunching
- tried killing steam in task manager and relaunching
- tried running as admin
- tried updating to windows 25H2
- tried updating graphics drivers
- tried to run `netsh int tcp set supplemental internet congestionprovider=ctcp` in powershell as admin (+reboot)
- tried to run `steam://open/main` through run dialogue
- tried windows 8 compatibility mode
- tried a clean uninstall+reinstall of steam

Nothing worked, and now all my games are uninstalled :(

Only thing I haven't done is try to roll back windows, but I dont' even know what version I'd roll back to. And I have so much personal crap on this system that it sounds like more of a headache than it's worth to try and do a full nuclear option here

I can't open Steam either. I've tried restarting my PC, and I've also tried deleting and reinstalling Steam.

But I still cannot open Steam to use it. I hope they fix this issue quickly

Literally this is the only post online I have seen of this issue. I guess the update only affected a small minority of computers?

Steam has officially entered its “diva era” and refuses to run on my PC. I’ve done the adult troubleshooting routine, uninstall, reinstall, reboot, question my life choices. Nothing. Steam just sits there like, “Adorable effort. Denied.”

So I escalated.

I prayed.
I offered a blood sacrifice (fine, a paper cut, but still).
I reset my router’s chakras.
I whispered sweet nothings into my GPU.
I smudged the hard drive with sage like a tech exorcist.
I threatened the motherboard with a full Linux conversion.
I even held a séance to summon the spirit of Windows 7.

Steam remains unbothered.

And the best part? I checked online and apparently half the internet is having the same issue. New forum threads are popping up like Steam has launched a global “Let’s Not Work Today” event and forgot to tell us.

If anyone’s got a ritual stronger than what I’ve already tried, and ideally one that won’t involve law enforcement, I’m listening.

Now I gotta re-install all my games because of this stupid issue. I hope it gets fixed soon.

may fix by creating a new user on your computer. Same issue and it worked
