Note: I found several posts from years ago flooded with people going me too; but any time they are revived they get shut down with a Valve mod saying "This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion." ....but no fix. Not sure if i should find an open one from a year ago, and risk it just being shut down, or just post a fresh one...

The notification regarding if a friend has started a game keeps coming up on the lower right hand side every few minutes even if they never leave the game. I do not want to turn the notifications OFF, just have the notifications be accurate.

To head off followup questions:

1. I have the newest available steam client.

2. Example 1: My friend was sharing his screen with me (on discord) while he was playing a steam game, when i received a steam notification that he just started it. The notification continued to come up every 5 minutes or so, roughly. No connection issues.

3. Example 2: My husband in the same room as me, same wifi, different PC, different steam account; the notification popped up on my end, and i real-time asked him if he restarted his game, no.

4. My husband and I share some of the same friends, while i am "spammed" with notifications, he is not.

5. My client has been wonky with other minor issues for some time now that despite being on the most recent version impact me, but not others.... Which would lead me to believe its my PC causing the issue but not sure how my PC would think to notify me of a steam friend starting a game at random. (Mod sorting, and external links hardly ever function on the first click; spell check doesn't replace words on right click, tuesday maintenence often hits me longer than the rest of my household)

Any ideas are helpful. Again all i could find were dated posts flooded with people saying me too, no solutions other than turning them off completely.... thanks.
