HELP! CANT LOG IN TO STEAM APP ANY MORE
I have been playing several games on my PC using the STEAM application. I recently updated my account to include my phone number for account recovery. I then changed my password *using the password reset on the web page*. I forced a log out of all connections to my STEAM account, rebooted the PC and then went to log in *on the PC STEAM APP*.. It will NOT accept my credentials using the new password. SO.. I hit 'forgot user name or password', reset it again. I can log in to the STEAM WEB SITE but the STEAM PC APPLICATION will still not let me in. I can not play any of the games I have paid for as a result.

NOTE: UN-installing and re-installing STEAM app made no difference. I can log in to the web site using the new credentials. I can not log in to the STEAM app with the new credentials. The web site is of very little use if you cant use the app to play games.

I have been stuck here trying to get help on this for 48 hours now and have sent emails to support@steampowered.com yet am not getting any response. What this means is that the six or seven games I have paid for are not available to me. This really sucks.

you open a ticket here on steam under help at top left not sending them mails

It sounds like your password is too long. The web can accept longer passwords than the steam client. Basically the client has a max of 64 characters iirc. So if your password is longer than that it will only use the first 64 characters and cut off.
