A family member recently bought a Steam Deck for me and it should be arriving in a few days, however they bought it as a guest without using a Steam account. You are supposed to get Steam points for buying a Steam Deck.

My question is: Will I get the points when I login on the Steam Deck, do I get none of the points, or what happens?

I looked online already and people are giving conflicting answers, so I thought I'd ask here. They got me the 512GB OLED so it would suck if I lost out on 50,000 Steam points or however much it was.
