Remove a game from Steam to purchase it again
I know this may seem like a no sense request, but the game in question is The Division 2, which I had linked to my old Ubisoft account. I recently created a new Ubisoft account, but I can't play The Division 2. It tells me that it has been associated with another account (my old one), and even Ubisoft support can't do anything about it.
As a result, this seems to be the only way to play The Division 2 on Steam. Now, before I do this, I'd like to ask here to find out if it would actually work or if it would just be a waste of time.

And another question: since I've already unlocked trophies on TD2 here on Steam, if I do this, will the unlocked trophies still be unlocked (because they're associated with Steam)? Obviously, I know that they would be unlocked on my Ubisoft account, but I would like to avoid having the trophies unlocked twice on Steam and seeing the trophy count distorted.

I know these may seem like two stupid questions, but I would be grateful if you could help me clarify them.

"I want to permanently remove this game from my account" is just an advanced hide and does not remove the game from your account. When you go to rebuy the game it will not let you and it will inform you to recover the game using the support section.

Your only options are to recover your Ubisoft account or buy the game on a different Steam Account.

Waste of time. You are being authenticated to Ubisoft by your Steam account, not the purchase. Ubisoft is recognizing your Steam account as belonging to a specific Ubisoft account. You need Ubisoft to associate your Steam account with the new Ubisoft account. Unfortunately from what we've seen, Ubisoft will never do it. Why? Only they know.

I try to steer away from Ubisoft products on Steam for this very reason, which in turn makes me not want to buy Ubisoft products at all.

If by the grace of God you get Ubisoft to switch Ubisoft accounts... Whatever stats you have on Steam would remain. Now whether or not Ubisoft will recognize them on the new account remains to be seen. At worst the game would assume you are starting over but Steam will keep tracking stats as if nothing changed. The game may send a message to Steam to unlock an achievement you already have, but Steam would just ignore it basically.
