Lost / hacked Account

I made second account and bought something for 5 EUR so I can write here.

I did not play any game for 1 year or so. Last time I bought a game on steam was February 2024.
Today I saw that Hogwarts Legacy was on a big sale and I wanted to buy it, if I will want to play in the future.

Well ofc I forgot the password (or someone changed it). Wanted to reset it, but email was not in database? So next step was to find it with username. I copied my username from some email (its a name with a lot of random numbers after it) I got from steam and proceed - I saw that email address of the account is something completely different?!

I never changed emails address, I have few from the past...but only use 1. I do not remember seeing any mail that change was requested - normally I delete spam mail daily and if I got any (for email address change) I assumed it was spam and deleted it.

Can anything be done? I have mails with details of purchases on my steam account, so this is how I could maybe show Steam support that account is mine?

I am not such a big gamer, like I used to be. But I still enjoy playing from time to time and would really appreciate if anyone knows how to go from here.

Steam support is automated and I cannot do anything there...also I dont see any support email address I could write..

Also my password was not weak..but its true that I didnt change it for a long time..

You don't need to spend anything to comment on the forums

DO NOT be logged in on any account
Follow the guide. If you can't enter details cause they've been changed, you don't remember or have access to them use the I don't have/known this data option or just enter random dskjfhksjdfh to continue

Some guy from Finland stole the account and played 11 hours of CS on it once..thats it. Why?

Maybe playing a bannable game to see in cheats detected?

Spam friends with dodgy gambling, phishing links

Stolen and sold to someone

and I'm sure there are plenty of other reasons I haven't mentioned

I guess u urgently need to change password, mb u once followed some phishing link. More than sure that man who played cs on ur account played it with cheats. Good luck bro

Haha...did not even think about cheating..but I am not a fan of FPS games, so I never really tried any cheating online.

I am in the process of adding authenticator with mobile app. :)
