Trojan.Kryptic.YKAC in ShapeHero Factory
Hi, Just purchased a copy of the game "ShapeHero Factory" here at Steam. I posted the following on the community forums of that game but i have not gotten a single response yet.

Upon downloading/installing this game my anti-malware program SpyHunter goes off, blocks the download and states there is Trojan.Kryptic.YKAC in the game files and removes this malware immediately. (So I am unable to check this file elsewhere to see if it is a false positive or not.)

Anyone else have any experience with this? Any suggestions for me what to do next (outside just ask for a refund?)

Best regards, John

EDIT: Just reported this game folllowing the instructions at: https://psteamhelp.yuanyoumao.com/en/faqs/view/5F3D-1477-AFF9-C4F3

Your anti-malware detected a real threat, but sometimes games with unusual DRM or launchers can trigger false positives. Don’t run the game, verify the files through Steam, and scan the folder with another reputable scanner like Malwarebytes. You should also report it to Steam support with your SpyHunter logs. If you can’t confirm it’s safe, the safest option is to request a refund.

That never-heard-of program spew misleading results as much...

In that case, it's always false positive until one of the reputable programs such as BitDefender detects it.

I'd recommend a scan of those game files, it is listed as a known Trojan, you can find out more with a quick search, some basic details for you:

Kryptik (also known as Win32/Kryptik.BGIS) is a backdoor trojan, which is often installed without users' knowledge. Therefore, people do not install programs of this type intentionally. When installed, Kryptik can be controlled remotely.

Using this feature, cyber criminals attempt to trick people into installing Kryptik so that they can steal information and then use it to generate revenue. If there is any reason to believe that Kryptik is installed on the operating system, remove it immediately.

It could be a false positive as posted above, but better to be safe than sorry.

Most likely a false positive.

SpyHunter is, itself, pretty much malware. It's been known, since its release on XP, for purposfully flagging false-positives to scare people into buying or renewing subscriptions. Uninstall it and just use Microsoft Defender.
