no more auto start with PC?

started up the computer today. and Steam loaded an update. but now Steam no longer auto starts with the computer. and the option in Steam Settings > Interface is missing.

what gives?

Sounds like the update somehow got corrupted. I would try reinstalling Steam in-place:

Exit Steam.
Make sure you have all your login info (account name, password, etc.)
Delete everything in the Steam folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) *** EXCEPT ***:
- steamapps folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps)
- userdata folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata)
- steam sub-folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam)
- steam.exe file (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe)
Double click the steam.exe file.

Thereafter login and go to Settings -> Interface. Is the option to "run Steam when my computer starts" available?
