Fallout 3 DLCs from disc not working on Xbox Series X

Hello guys,

I am posting this question here on Steam because I couldn´t find a solution anywhere else. I own the Fallout 3 Xbox 360 core game and four DLCs from disc. Recently I installed the core game and all four DLCs but only the core game is working during play. Normally you receive radio signals and quest markers IMMEDIATELY after you go into a game after the DLCs have been installed but in my case you don´t get any notifications. Any ideas to solve the issue?

This has nothing to do with Steam.

The issue is likely with backward compatibility. Try uninstalling the game and installing it from the DLC disc, not the core game disc. Also, make sure to keep the DLC disc in the console while you play.

The Fallout 3 forum might be a better place to start than a random generic forum. Although it's still gonna be almost exclusively PC focused on Steam. Possibly a Microsoft/Xbox forum would be better yet, that is if you actually want informed response. But hey, who knows you might get lucky.

I have three discs:

1. Fallout 3 core game.
2. Broken Steel & Point Lookout DLC.
3. Operation Anchorage & The Pitt DLC.

I have previously installed all three discs on my Xbox One with the same result that the DLCs don´t show up in game. Today I have installed all three discs on my Xbox Series X console. So far I have deleted all the DLCs and installed them again with no change of results.

Other forums only tell the customer of how to download the DLC from the marketplace. Real troubleshooting is absent.

I solved the problem. DLCs from discs just don´t work with modern consoles. I have downloaded the Broken Steel DLC as a test and it worked as my character can now progress beyond Lvl 20. Thanks for all the helpful responses.
