1000mbps bandwith, steam downloads with 80mbps
I recently upgraded my home's internet connection to 1000mbps and i tried to download Red Dead Redemption 2 on steam. When i try to download from my pc using an ethernet cable i get 80mbps (not megabytes, megabits). When my girlfriend using her laptop using wifi tries to download the same game she gets 470mpbs. Why? How?

Steam not only downloads but also installs the game or atleast saves it on your drive. That way you are not only limited by your download speed but also to your hard drive.

And depending on how game updates it can also be limited due to CPU speed due to moving files

both cpu and nvme ssd are fine with speed, i have had times where the download speed has hit 800mbps , so its not the cpu/ssd i think.

during the past days, i've had one time where the download speed was normal (around 600mbps), also when i switch to hungary (im from greece) i get around 360mbps.
