Seems they went on a spam spree.
Because this imo feels like a step back, as if they are turning into a mobile storefront rather than what it was, a PC storefront.
My feelings aside, i can come to two conclusions, either this is to make way for their beta testing Calendar view they have in the works (which i'm not too sure many people would use, but i've been known to be surprised before), OR, they are removing the tabs to simply "Declutter" the store pages. But I feel like this could hurt some developers down the line.
Assume a game long ago, say 3-4 years, had a huge update and wanted to reach out to new players, that would get piled under all the more recently released games because they (Steam) want people to focus on the more recent titles rather than the old. This feels like a step backwards rather than forwards.
