STOP CHANGING THE STORE UI

I can't be the only that has noticed that the changes to the steam store are absolute trash. The ways that games are presented or even your ability to search is severely limited to the new categories buttons. I'm not sure if this is in someway to improve navigation on the steam deck or what, but it makes it difficult to scroll through games. These massive windows showing games like its some kind of streaming service makes it difficult to scroll through the literal thousands of games available.

They have removed the ability to sort through top rated games and in some cases top selling games. If a game has good review and is selling well then it probably is a decent enough game to check out. I understand that steam is "trying to prevent review brigadeing", but honestly who cares. If fans are upset at a dev for destroying a game, let their voices be heard. That was the glory of steam! It seemed like the one place players could voice their opinion.

Speaking rationally here, I think what they are asking is why have they removed the "Top Rated" and "Popular Discounted" tabs off genre selected store pages, and why the removal of the "Coming Soon" scroll tab underneath the listings.

Because this imo feels like a step back, as if they are turning into a mobile storefront rather than what it was, a PC storefront.

My feelings aside, i can come to two conclusions, either this is to make way for their beta testing Calendar view they have in the works (which i'm not too sure many people would use, but i've been known to be surprised before), OR, they are removing the tabs to simply "Declutter" the store pages. But I feel like this could hurt some developers down the line.

Assume a game long ago, say 3-4 years, had a huge update and wanted to reach out to new players, that would get piled under all the more recently released games because they (Steam) want people to focus on the more recent titles rather than the old. This feels like a step backwards rather than forwards.

i mean the mans right. this ui update is the worst they put out. it makes searching through the store front a pain in the ass and i miss not having top rated and only showing top selling. some games like mmos in top selling are filled with ♥♥♥♥ games that are cash grabs or garbage that have just mixed to poor reviews but hey they sell alot. they need top rated and to go back to the old ui. its like they took 3 steps back and made navigation a pain just to ♥♥♥♥ with the people who use steam.

the thing is it those tabs didnt add any clutter. and now its worse

He's 100% right, this UI shift is the most "We fixed what wasn't broken" update I have ever witnessed. There was no real reason to remove any of those tabs and I constantly get error messages now.
