Anyone claiming to be from Valve contacting you through Discord or other means is a scammer.

For perspective OP, you and your friends could report me constantly, for anything you want. But... since my account hasn't done any of the things you'd claim, and because Valve can see everything my account does, one bogus report or a million will not matter.

The trick is, people don't know how Steam works, and faced with a scary claim, and the point is to be scary, so you'll act foolishly to avoid consequences you're not sure are real or not, so people resort to "better be safe than sorry", but that only works if you know what's safe. And playing along with scammers isn't for anyone who's not sure which way up is.
