make it default so no new downloads will go to it

I have done that.
the HDD is linked.
The SSD appears there but it behaves like there are no steam games on it.
How can i take a picture like that and i will show you.
Assume same steam account users and steam can see the old drive in steam library.
and you might have to use in steam storage to move games so you know drive has been recogized by steam own file system.
i have 4 drives in pc, if steam dont see it at steam storage then steam so not know about it.
use ARROW DOWN at current viewed default drive.
other possible ideas try repair steam library ( the 3 dots option ) or validate a small game to see if this matters.
othre issue steam need to be in the root as steamlibrary, ( its steam recommendation to avoid OS rights issue. )
First of all i removed the drive from the added list.
Then i went to "add drive" and instead of choosing the drives name (in this case the E drive) i selected choose another location.
I then went to the programs86 location, clicked on the "steam" folder (not entering it) and then clicked "select" down the bottom to link the steam storage adding directly to the old steam file.
Having a log through the surface level files it SEEMS that steam created a NEW folder on my filled drive instead of LINKING to the pre existing one (like it did with my D drive) but thankfully selecting the old steam folder seems to have connected them just fine now.
So hopefully anyone else having this issue can figure it out and follow along as well. Thanks for your help everyone my dark souls 2 character file is saved- haha.
There is a reason steam has made move functions at each game properties and steam storage as option, if you did this it could explan alot why steam dont accept wrong drive letter in VDF files.
and why its a issue to access it.
atleast your post can help other steam user with it, gj to understand why it was a security issue, as fare as i see it.
i have seen camara multi flash drive attached to system jump around and change drives letters depend on what flash card is there and make system access issue to OS shortcut.point at wrong letter.
