Hello everyone. I ran into a problem activating a gift on steam. I was given Escape from Tarkov - Prepare for Escape Edition (pre-order), but for several hours now I have not been able to get it to my account due to the fact that it gives the error "failure" during activation. Could this error be due to the pre-order of Escape from Tarkov itself, or is it a problem with steam itself? Has anyone encountered this before? The region has not changed

Всем привет. Столкнулся с проблемой активации подарка в steam. Мне подарили Escape from Tarkov - Prepare for Escape Edition (предзаказ), но уже несколько часов я не могу получить его себе на аккаунт из за того, что при активации выдает ошибку "failure". Может ли быть эта ошибка именно из-за предзаказа самого Escape from Tarkov или это проблема в самом steam? Может кто-то сталкивался с этим ранее? Регион не менялся

Hello, had the same issue when I tried to gift my friend the same edition, the problem is that you can't gift the bundle, you can gift the base game (standard edition), then you will have to upgrade it, or if your friend buys you the upgrade when it is purchasable.
The gift only worked when we tried standard edition

That edition is not giftable. And from what I can see, there are no keys available for sale. There was a listing for "global steam keys" on a shady site. Is it possible someone bought a key from them, that is most likely fake, and given it to you?

No, this is a gift that was purchased (specifically this version of the game) on Steam.
(I don't buy anything through third-party stores that offer an account gift or key sale because I'm afraid of losing my account, and I received this gift from my father (in fact, I could have done it myself because I have a second PC in the same room))

I repeat the comment from the Forum. Tarkov's developers are aware of this problem (if you have a problem with him).

This is purely my guess, but most likely due to the fact that steam is not able to activate the D L C for the game while this game itself is not on the account, it crashes. Roughly speaking, there is a game and a D L C in the set, but due to the inability to activate the D L C until the game is registered on the account, the game cannot be activated.

This hasn't been an issue with and of the CoD games that are DLC for the HQ.
