A very popular platform recently published a tool for creating community events where people could inform in advance if they were coming or not in advance.

I decided to try for the first time in many years the Steam version of group events. I used to do plenty of these 4-6 years ago when we had an active Steam community around a game. I would create an event on our Steam group page and it would create a pop up on everyone's desktop when the event was starting.

I tried to do this in 2023. I created an event two days ago and set it to launch on 5 pm today (15 minutes ago from when I'm posting this). At the time the event notification was supposed to fire up, I asked a few people in my friends list who where a part of that group whether they received a notification about an event starting. I asked 4 people. 1 of them said they had turned off event notifications, but three people said that they had all Steam notifications on, but did not receive any event start notification at all. I then tried to create an event starting immediately and an event starting 5 minutes after I made the event notification and still nothing.

Does anyone have recent experience on this system? I would like to find out whether this system in just broken on Steam or is there something I did wrong.
