My inventory items has been stolen, any advice for that?
Can you tell me how all my items could have been stolen, when my inventory has been set to private for a long time, I haven't clicked on any suspicious links, and I haven't accepted any trade offers? I accidentally discovered that my inventory was empty, and then I found out that Steam Support is washing their hands of it.

So, am I to understand correctly that with this kind of attitude, I can just go ahead and steal other people's items too? You know, it would be their own fault for not taking care of their security as Steam Support page claims. Even though I have Steam Guard enabled, it didn't really protect me from the thieves.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Can you explain what method they used to rob me, considering I never directly interacted with the thieves?

People can lose their account to scammers by phishing attacks, or viruses.

- Vote for my team scam.
- You been invited beta/playtests scam.
- I sent you something scam.
- Sharing account with others, or person sharing with fell for one of the scams using your account.
- You login on compromise device such as public library, or cybercafe PC.
- Using sketchy private scam networks such as proxy, or VPN services.
- Using gambling/trading sites.
- Fell for DM scam claiming reported you/you have pending ban, or claiming to be support/admin.
- You were doing ARRR stuff, or download random things online, or from someone email/DM such as discord.

You can see login history of location visit steam help page > my account > data related to my account > steam logins. Note scammers can sit on your account for months before doing anything.

I recommend start doing this.
1. Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Change password for all accounts using same password.
3. Deauthorize all other devices. https://psteamproxy.yuanyoumao.com/twofactor/manage
4. Generate new backup codes. https://psteamproxy.yuanyoumao.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key. https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/dev/apikey <--- Should be nothing there.

If the trade is over 7 days old there nothing you can do.

Always turn on but at the moment of trade, no notification. At least there is a bright side: no need to play CS or Dota anymore since I have nothing left.

That if want to bypass hold restrictions.

Trade can be committed, but place on hold for 2 weeks, unless you're friend with the scammer account for over a year, which reduce trade hold to one day.

Also to point out again, there recent added trade protection, which if trade was finalize, and it gone beyond 7 days that the trade was completed there no way to revert trade.
