It may be because of their privacy settings. If they don't want strangers commenting on their profile, that's their choice.

My profile is public full open. You can test post and delete if you want to confirm how its supposed to work.
If you can't post then its friends only, they don't allow any posts, or it allows everyone but they blocked you.
