card accepted, but age not verified?

I have verified my card, but steam still wont let me view mature content, what can I do? I know my card is verified with them because i have used it to buy games through selecting it from my steam wallet. I have even removed it from my wallet and added it again, seeing the pending payment in my bank statement. For some reason however, when I go to preferences it still tells me my age needs to be verified to be able to access mature content. Is there some obvious reason its not working? Have I missed something? Or is i just a bug?

Debit cards will not lift the age restriction. It has to be a credit card.

Then your out of luck. There is no workaround.

For UK users, this opt-in process requires age verification. Your UK Steam user account is considered age verified for as long as a valid credit card is stored on the account.
