Steam downloading and installing the same time
I've read a tons of topic saying that steam ALWAYS did that ..I'm sorry but not for me
Last week I download helldiver 2 : 100Go 30 mins download ! Nice ! (I could play with friends and all until..)

Helldiver update > Have to repair the game for an obscure reason..Repair takes too long > I uninstall clear download cache, delete the remaining files manually

Time to install it back !
Now when I download, I have two bars both for installing AND downloading, download size : 27 Go (So now the game is compressed ?) Download duration 6 HOURS ??

Now every games I download, I have both the download and install bars Why ?
Why steam..Give me the ability to get back to my good old installation process

I still download as fast as before on Epic games...So...

Tried to uninstall and install steam again but now it feels like my account got "upgraded" (more like downgraded to me) To this kind of download and installation..

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. Steam used to just download first, then install. Now for a lot of games, it does both at the same time, and it can feel way slower, especially when it’s unpacking stuff mid-download. It’s not your internet it’s just how Steam handles some newer game formats now.

Kinda sucks that there’s no option to switch back. Epic and others still just download straight, so it makes the difference feel even worse. Hopefully Valve adds some settings or at least explains this better at some point.

Yeah it's so weird literally last week I was downloading normally 100Go for helldiver in one go and only then I would install but now I both install AND download, if it changed all of sudden then ...Why there's no option to change it back ?? Why steam why ! XD
Feels like my account been cursed with that new download process and I can't change it back

I am also complaining for the same subject. I was able to download RDR2 before this nonsense like 30 min and now it takes ages. I don't wanna spend my whole life on waiting to play a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ video game from rest of my time off work.

So i opened a ticket to Steam, i invite you to do so.

I did the same and they told me they couldn't do anything for me and welp Guess I'm fooked

But seems like my SSD stopped from downloading fast all of sudden I dunno , it was good and all of sudden it's bad and I have those bars all of sudden
