I also did every single thing you did and I'm still having trouble updating and downloading games.
But stopped at 93% with the same error.
Tried agian, downlod resumed, but altough my nework is working and steam is showing downlaoding, it's been sitting at 93% for hours.
WTF? WTF Steam?
How long does it take you to fix this?
Trough how many hoops do I have to jump to get to my games I paid for?
Win10 64 LTSC b.t.w.
Note that other games don't want to download/update at all.
Interestingly enough, I did downalod the depot files for another smaller game, placed in the steam downalods folder, and the download and installation started working for it - but it had ot download the game again (even tough I had all the files???)
tldr is steam changed something on the backend related to downloads. New updates uses this new system, but the old steam clients ( window 7 clients) cant utilize it. Pretty crappy since steam always forces games to update, which will render them unusable for older steam clients.
technically you can keep playing old games that never updates since may 2025.
So what happens when you try to do each individual task separately instead of altogether?
Hi sorry for the late reply. So does that mean I have to uninstall then install my steam client?
You also mentioned something about windows 7 clients. Is there a way to check what window client am I? Because I bought my laptop (new) in 2024, so I'm pretty sure it's way above 7 already. Sorry if I misunderstood here.
Thanks for help also!
