I use an Xbox controller and it always seems to work just fine. With limited info its kinda hard to suggest anything. I'd look into the games its doing it on if its not every game. If its supported fully and has the options that you prefer.

Same thing has been happening to me ever since I switched to a Dualsense controller from xbox controller. It's getting really annoying to manually fix it everytime.

Never had this kind of issue myself either, BUT I also avoid "Steam Input" like the plague and only activate it for games that insist on it. XBox normally works out of the box, so no need to have Steam mess things up.

Seems to be a DualSense issue, I have it too.

I've had this happen with Kingdom Come Deliverance 1 and 2 as well as a non-steam game. Also having Steam input turn itself on after I disabled it. Not on the Beta either. Odd behavior to be sure. On a DualShock 4.

Still happening. The mapping for a game will be fine for days but then occasionally get broken when the game is launched again. DualSense / Linux client here.

I also just noticed the triggers L2 and R2 are swapped?

Got this issue randomly in Baldur's gate 3 with Vader 4 Pro controller. Anyone know how to avoid this without disabling Steam Input?

Today both bumpers are mapped to Left Bumper. I've gone from no left bumper to having too many of them!
