Website inaccessible with Firefox
When I try to visit the Steam website via Firefox, it hangs and never displays the page. It works fine with Edge.

This is a new PC build, and I copied my old Firefox profile over. I had trouble seeing any website after that, because of extensions that didn't come over properly. I deleted all that had been there, and then the rest of the web was fine. Just not Steam. I was forced to download the client via Edge.

Unfortunately, I didn't attempt to visit the site before I copied my old profile, so I don't know if that actually has anything to do with it. And it had been awhile since I visited Steam on my old machine, so I don't know if this was an existing problem.

Try: Settings > Privacy & Security >> Cookies and Site Data > Manage Data... >>
Choose "steampowered.com" and "psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com" and click Remove Selected
This will clear any cookies and data for those two URLs.

You could also choose Clear Data and clear the temporary cache files and pages.

Other than that, I would guess a browser plugin is at fault.

Thanks, but clearing cookies was almost the first thing I tried.

There are no plugins or extensions installed other than those which come with Firefox (Wildvine CDM and OpenH264 video codec) and Ublock.
it happened to me after transfering profiles too (i ususally backup and move around the entire AppData/Roaming/Mozilla folder)

disabling add ons or clearing steam cache & cookies did nothing, so i tried a fresh installation of firefox after deleting all mozilla folders (program installation folder + local, locallow, roaming, programdata and local/temp), steam worked, so i put back my roaming/mozilla backup in place but steam didn't work anymore

it was a bit random but what did work was then deleting folders in the profile folder at random, i dont remember which deleted folder solved the bug but it also unistalled all my add-ons even after i put back my original roaming/mozilla backup in place

i kept this outcome, reinstalled the add ons again, exited firefox, then replaced all the "profiles/whateverprofilename/storage/default/moz-extension+++*" folders with the ones from my backup and i got back my add-on settings and data like they were before this mess, and i could access steam websites too from this point

TL;DR looks like it is some corrupted file in profile and maybe installation folder that have been cleaned up by my half-random actions
