That email is a scam, Do Not click any links in it.
Steam will not send instructions via email and they definitely do not make a temp account to speak to you from.

That is not a real steam email.

Do not look for something that COULD be something.

Look for signs that it is not!

But anyway, only use official ways to contact any support.

lol, you need to make a steam ticket. Steam will hardly contact you. It is like microsoft. They will never send you emails, but you need to ask them for help on their website.

Just to be safe also, i would suggest your run the free version of malwarebytes or run your antivirus program, and possibly change your email password. These can help too.

No, report the account.

As everyone say it's a scam email, my advice if you ever get warning from steam, just go to steam directly you will see red/yellow banner appears that will always keep popping up each time you launch steam, don't click any links from email, and give you some facts.

Steam support will never contact you ever out of no where, because they have no reason, nor will they ever ask you to providing proof of anything out of the blue for no reason. Only time Steam support ever ask for proof of account ownership is when YOU make a ticket on steam for account related issues, that meant account recovery.

Steam support does not have any one to work with them, or for them for anything account related, that means anyone claiming to be working with, for, or claiming to be support saying you have pending ban, or claim they mistakenly reported you is automated red flag scam.


Scammers may DM you to try trick you, saying things like:

- Vote my team scam.
- You have pending ban, or I reported you.
- You won, or I gifted you something.
- Invited you to playtests/beta.
- Let trade on this site.

All of them providing you a scam link to fake site, some scam sites use virtual boxes on their servers to mimic a fake browser tab to display a real url, but the page tunnel on their servers where they get your login token if login via their scam site.

Scammers also make Gambling site / trading sites to tricking people, paying streamers to promote their sites, and so on.


And if you're sharing your account with someone they can fall for one of above as well, which why don't share accounts, they're free for a reason, and we have family share so no reason share accounts period.

Never, a link can redirect you anywhere the scammer wants, even a fake looking Steam website to get you to log in, giving away your account information freely by doing so.

Common sense, that's all you need. A scammer will use scaremongering tactics to try and pressure you in to doing something that they want, they'll use words like Admin, Steam Support or Moderator to make it look legit.

They'll threaten to ban you if you don't do what they want.

It's all lies.

If you're not sure, always ask firstly, there are plenty of people here that will give you the right advice to protect your account. All you have to do is ask!
