Easy Anti-Cheat “bootstrapped” error after Windows reset (RageMP / GTA V RP)
Hello everyone,
I’d really appreciate any help or advice from anyone who has faced this issue before — I’ve been trying to fix it for over a day and nothing seems to work.

So, I play GTA V RP through RageMP, and everything used to work perfectly fine before. Two days ago, I decided to factory reset my PC (Windows reset), and after reinstalling everything — GTA V, RageMP, etc. — I started getting a strange issue.

When I launch a server through RageMP, it starts loading, then the Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) window appears, but it freezes at that point.
In Task Manager, I can see EasyAntiCheat running, and after a few seconds Crash, it shows a message: “bootstrapped”, and nothing else happens.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

Reinstalled GTA V (completely deleted and reinstalled)

Reinstalled RageMP

Deleted all EasyAntiCheat folders manually

Cleaned the registry entries for EAC

Reinstalled EAC again manually

But nothing works — the same issue persists.

Also, when I try to open the EasyAntiCheat.exe manually from the GTA5RP or RageMP folders, it doesn’t open at all, so I can’t even do a “repair” like most articles suggest.

If anyone knows what could cause this or how to fix it, please share what worked for you. I would be extremely grateful for any help or ideas because I honestly don’t know what else to try at this point.

Thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply

UPDATE FIXED:

After trying everything I could find online and doing all possible fixes to regain access and get back into the game, nothing worked. So I decided to do something different — a full hard factory reset with a deep clean on all drives.

It turned out the problem was caused by an old EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) folder somewhere deep in the system that kept interfering with the new installation. Even after doing a normal factory reset or reinstalling Windows, some leftover files or registry entries can remain and still cause trouble.

So, I went for a complete deep clean, wiping every drive and installing only Windows again — and everything now works perfectly fine. No more errors, no more bootstrap issues.

If anyone else is having the same problem, I highly recommend spending 20–40 minutes to perform a full deep clean factory reset.
That way, no old folders or hidden files can remain to cause issues — and your system will be fresh, clean, and fully functional again.

Did you allow it to go thru your firewall? Sometimes windows asks you to allow it to connect to it. I had a friend who had to do this with several of their games.

Now I'll try to format the computer, maybe some file has been left and is messing up when the new meets the old.
