Keep in mind we have no clue here how good you are at PC and already have done all of this or not.
You can find several old post with steam use CPU DL ration and disk I/O
i and other also know you wont get full speed at old games, i call if FAF = Frequent Access Files, because then i DL very old games they do take longer to fetch like its on a remote server that need to wake up from the graves, thats my point not a Main steam current DL from all users, possible not cached in steam ram cache.
as i said alot of thing we take for granted today, dont forget even old games with alot of files also have a perofomance impact issue. ( most newer games do not have them old ways )
But feel free to contect steam anyway. i and othewr do not prevent ppl from that.
Make sure you dont have wifi or vpn or brige that extended Latency that players call ping.
Feel free to be a casual player with those lesser tech Solution , i can only say If they was so good why do Esports Tournemanet not use them. ( i can only tell you this rest is what you can afford and have to live with.
No matter 600 ping is clearky a issue along the road to a game server. ( ask own ISP and steam there is no other that actual can help you. )
When we assume its not own pc or connection issue.
Do you have other online client that work fine and maybe run on diffrent paths to them game sever. ( italy well you know what i meanup and down country, how will i know if you country have sea cable go to spain or other side, ( only italy own ISP know better. )
600 ping no one will belive a hocus pocus trick here with reset of it.
something is going on into game server thats for sure. ( most i knwo do not reash 200 or 300 ona bad day.
Mainly the 600+ ping comes from TF2, i can try a different game, that is maybe from Ubisoft and return here.
yeah ask steam and own ISP,
try reboot router and swithc to cable if wifi user, as i said i doubt and tips can fix 600 ping.
and we assume its not your PC or connection into own ISP , this looklike from own ISP into whatever server has a issue and thats your ISP and steam supports problem.
just ask own ISP and steam, not the first time they sometime can do something,
example
what if a ISP has a emergency fiber issue in top of this, then there is nothing you can do untill they fix it. ( this is why ask own ISP do they have a issue atm.
Also why so many older gamers has a sms service if ISP has such inform us with connection issue.
as i said 600 to 1000 ping is seen from most pc player unplayable game.
you need a turn base game to get away with that, i think
see diffrent path and server, so you see, this look like 100% own ISP into whatever game server that use same crowsed line,
if this is steady as you say atm mindcarft.server. ( now you know how diffcult it is to avoid what line use into a game sever. ) or fiber lines. cound technicaly runb in same way but on diffrent routes and sont have a issue.
and you now know path's and fiber lines is a matrix and we are not in controll over them ISP is.
and now you can see tell or broadcast what you did lets say switch steam DL was a solution you keep it for yourself, you dont need all other flip flop all italy pc user with you , ISP do not like mass suggestion, also know as havoc and mayhem, thats 2 decads ago we see pc user did that, and back then ISP was rough and hard close interface to get up and running again.
so know you know why your solution is for you only.
But you still need contact own ISP, im sure they working hard on to fix it, and you also make sure you are part of the issue and not have own other issue atm.
nothingg is worse have 2 fiber down any ISP can tell you that but they will not public say thats not real your problem is it, in who has done it. thats a company own problem to deal with it.
but now you know. ( and why have a dialog with steam and own ISP is the only way out of it.
