Just so you understand how banking works:
When you buy something your bank will take that money out of your account and put it in a holding period. This is for security and also technical handshake between your bank and steams bank. Once the payment has been ok'd by both banks, the money will be moved to steam and your transaction will be completed.
It take take from a few minutes to a few hours for this process to finalise, it all depends on how fast the banks work the process.
If for some reason something goes wrong and the transaction fails, the money will be released back into your bank account...usually within 3 working days.
