Hello everyone,

I’ve been experiencing a very frustrating issue with the Steam Client since October 3rd, 2025 around 19:00–21:00 (CET) and I have not found a solution despite trying almost everything. I would like to share my situation here in detail, hoping for advice or confirmation if this is a wider issue.

🔴 The Problem

My Steam Client does not allow me to log in with my account (smurftomx).

After entering my username and password, I only see an endless loading circle.

Trying to log in with the Steam Mobile App QR code shows the same behavior (stuck loading).

Sometimes I also get the error:
“Error – There was a problem communicating with the Steam servers. Please try again later.”

Important: I can log into my account in any web browser without issues.

Creating a new account in the Steam Client works fine – so the problem only occurs when using my existing account in the client.

✅ What I already tried (without success)

Restarted PC and router, also tested via mobile hotspot.

Reinstalled Steam three times.

Deleted all Steam files except steamapps and userdata, forcing Steam to redownload its core files.

Cleared DNS cache and reset Winsock.

Added Steam to firewall exceptions, temporarily disabled Windows Defender.

Started Steam with the -tcp option.

Synced system date and time with the internet.

Checked and reactivated Steam Guard in browser.

Deleted login cache files (loginusers.vdf, config.vdf).

Tested with administrator rights and compatibility mode.

Tried logging in via SteamCMD (still fails).

⚠️ Current situation

My account works perfectly fine in the browser, but not in the client.

A new test account works fine in the client.

This suggests that my account is somehow blocked or stuck in the client authentication process.

I opened a support ticket, but I wanted to ask here if anyone else has experienced this recently or if there are additional fixes I might try.

❓ My questions

Is this a known temporary issue with Steam’s login servers or specific accounts?

Could my account be “soft locked” after multiple login attempts and password changes?

Is there anything else I can reset/delete on the client side to clear authentication problems?
