Steam Client Stuck Updating / Won't Launch
Hello,

I am on windows 10.
For several days now my steam client has refused to launch. It gets to "Checking for available updates..." until it eventually fails out stating "Steam needs to be online to update". The computer is online, I am able to use the internet without issue and the connection is stable. Things I've tried that did not work:
1. Reset the computer
2. Add -tcp to the launcher
3. Run as admin
4. Disable windows firewall
5. Disable windows antivirus
6. Update network drivers
7. Uninstall and Re-install steam
8. Add the steam cdns to the hosts.tx file
9. Reset the router and modem
10. Reset TCP/IP stack

If anyone has suggestions about what to try next I would be very grateful. Thank you.

First thing I would try is start your PC in Windows Safe Mode with Networking.

ONLY run Steam when it comes up and see what happens. If it connects then you can rest assured it's something on your system interfering with it. And that's going to be down to you to start enabling things until you find the culprit.

If it doesn't then it indicates something wrong with your connection.
