My steam account was hacked and now steam support wont help me. What do I do
I have been having a problem recently, where my account was compromised by another person. The person that did this to my account purchased a steam deck with my card and also took over my discord as the accounts were linked. I changed all my passwords and got my account back, but since I canceled the payment on my card steam has locked my account and it will remain locked for 15 years. I reached out to steam support numerous times offering to show them proof, but they refuse to make any compromises with me stating that they haven't detected anything unusual thus I have to either pay for the steam deck or leave my account locked. I reached out to the BBB and they were ghosted by steam support. I don't know what to do and would love some help / advise. also the charge is $700 so I really don't want to pay for it. I also cant return the steam deck as it wasn't sent to my address but to someone else's.

You should have contacted support for a refund. What you did is called fraud.

Your account was compromised from your own doing and please explain how someone got the cards pin which is never stored.

There is a procedure for that (here) but you went with chargeback fraud.

I wasn't aware that reporting the charge was the wrong course of action at the time, I was panicked and didn't want a stranger to have access to my card. and I also don't know how they got my pin. I just want to know if there is anything I can do about it.

You claim someone compromised your account and bought a Steam Deck BUT Steam Support specifically stated:

that they haven't detected anything unusual

They can see all activity on your account.

As far as Steam Support are concerned you now have a free Steam Deck because you did a chargeback and they can see no unusual activity on your account.

The account remains locked until you pay the money back and in turn the payment method is also locked. You still have access to all of your current library.
